About Kilgore

Healing is a journey of discovery. Let it begin at Kilgore.

For nearly 40 years, Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center has supported individuals, couples, families, churches, and organizations throughout Louisville and Kentucky by providing compassionate, professional mental health care.

Kilgore is a nonprofit counseling center that recognizes the important connection between emotional wellness, relationships, meaning, and spirituality. While we honor the role faith and spirituality can play in healing for those who desire it, we proudly serve individuals from all faith backgrounds, including those with no religious affiliation at all.

Our experienced team includes psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed professional counselors, pastoral counselors, and other behavioral health professionals dedicated to helping people improve their quality of life through evidence based, relationship centered care.

We provide personalized counseling and support services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, including individual therapy, family therapy, couples counseling, psychological testing, addiction support, trauma informed care, coaching, consultation, telehealth services, and workshops.

Kilgore also provides pastoral support services for clergy, churches, congregations, and religious professionals seeking consultation, counseling, leadership support, educational programming, or congregational care.

Since our founding in 1987 through the vision and dedication of Betty Moss Gibbs, Kilgore has remained committed to increasing access to compassionate mental health services throughout our community. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we continue working to ensure care is accessible to individuals and families regardless of financial circumstances.

Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with Second Presbyterian Church and St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church as we carry forward a mission of healing, connection, and hope.
