Accreditation

The Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center, Inc. has been accredited by The Solihten Institute since 1986. Solihten is a national accreditation body that provides affiliated centers with educational events, training, leadership development, new program development, national representation, research, administrative and financial consultation, as well as management resources.

The Solihten Institute’s mission is to help provide integrated, team-oriented, cost-efficient counseling and services that enhance mind, body, spirit and community.

Accreditation ensures that The Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center adheres to the Institute’s high clinical and administrative and professional accountability standards that are recognized nationally by managed care companies, denominations, and colleagues in the field.

Following Solihten Institute standards, Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center is staffed with both a consulting psychologist, licensed social workers, licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed alcohol and drug clinical counselor and chaplain to help provide fully integrated care for our clients.

Second Presbyterian Church
Sharing the grace of God with each other and the world around us

Second Presbyterian Church has a rich history of service to the wider church and community. The Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary first met at Second Presbyterian. Members have helped found agencies of caring such as The Cabbage Patch Settlement House and The Presbyterian Community Center. They have provided leadership and are active participants in mission agencies such as United Crescent Hill Ministries, Bellewood Children’s Home, and The Wayside Christian Mission.

St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal
Mission – Community – Meaning – Identity – Hope

St. Francis in the Fields also is deeply involved in the community and wider church. It supports a variety of ministries here in Louisville, including the Backstretch Ministry at Churchill Downs, Home of the Innocents and The Cabbage Patch Settlement house, as well as a program to educate young people at the David School in Kentucky’s Appalachia region, and church building in San Cristobal and San Rafael in the Dominican Republic.

Partners in the Community

Kilgore has expanded its reach by collaborating, coordinating and implementing mental health wellness programs with Jefferson County Public Schools, West End School, and The Healing Place. Our outreach continues to grow in working with other school districts that surround greater Louisville.
